Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sarang Yadwadkar & Others Vs Pune Municipal Corporation & Others dated 23/07/2019. Rampant dumping of construction materials on the flood plains of the rivers flowing though Pune and Pimpri Chinchawad cities, Maharashtra more particularly the Mula-Mutha river came up before the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on July 23, 2019. The other allegation was of obstruction caused to the rivers causing diversion of its flow.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sarang Yadwadkar & Others Vs State Govt. of Maharashtra & Others dated 27/08/2018 regarding dumping of debris on the bank of river Mula - Mutha within the limits of Municipal Corporation, Pune.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zone Bench, Pune) in the matter of Sarang Yadwadkar & Ors. V/s. Mrs. Anjali Dinkar Datar & Others dated 11/08/2017 regarding illegal construction and dumping of debris on the banks of the river Mula-Mutha, Pune, Maharashtra. The Irrigation Department has submitted that demarcation of blue line of river Mutha is complete and it is for the Pune Municipal Corporation to act upon the booklet giving longitudes and latitudes with reference to blue line (no-development zone) and remove the encroachments.

Judgement of the National Green Tribunal (Western Zone Bench, Pune) in the matter of Sarang Yadwadkar & Others Vs The District Collector & Others dated 24/09/2015 regarding environmental degradation due to abuse of excessive release of potable water from Khadakwasla Dam for purpose of immersion of Ganesh idol during ensuing day of immersion which is likely to cause water pollution in the riverine bodies.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of Sarang Yadwadkar & Ors. Vs. Commissioner Pune Municipal Corporation & Ors. dated 16/04/2014 regarding dumping of debris and other materials and/or construction on the river bank and causing pollution and changing the course of the river Mutha. The Tribunal has asked the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, Pune be present in person and explain as to how the construction in the river bed by the Corporation is going on in-violation of the order of the Tribunal.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Sarang Yadwadkar & Others Vs Mrs. Anjali Dinkar Datar & Others dated 16/08/2013 regarding dumping of debris and other materials and construction on the river bank and causing pollution and changing the course of the river Mutha.

Tribunal directs removal of debris dumped on the river bed and proper disposal in accordance with law. The Tribunal also made it clear that any dumping of debris or waste on the river bed, i.e., the blue line or even the green area of river Mutha is prohibited.
