Affidavit filed on M/s Auto India Bajaj, Sangli causing water pollution, 31/08/2021
Rejoinder on behalf of Tausif Bagnikar to the reply affidavit filed by M/s Auto India Bajaj, 31/08/2021.
An application filed before the NGT said that M/s Auto India Bajaj, Sangli was carrying out illegal activity of washing and servicing of two wheeler vehicles and that the activities were carried out without the requisite permissions from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board.
The affidavit said that the unit was discharging untreated effluent to drainage without treatment. The unit has been running for more than 30 years, but without getting the permission from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board. Further, to escape payment of environmental compensation, the unit gave the wrong name and address and due to which the closure notice by the SPCB, August 17, 2020 was issued on that address.
