Judgement of the National Green Tribunal regarding industries operating in Dombivli whose CETPs are not functioning properly, Thane, Maharashtra, 01/05/2017
Judgement of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board Vs Union of India & Others dated 01/05/2017 regarding industries operating in the critically polluted area situated at Additional Ambernath, Dombivli Phase-I and Phase – II wherein the Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) are found to be not performing upto the standards and do not have adequate hydraulic load capacities and discharging untreated effluent into the River Ulhas.
NGT disposes of the Application with the direction that Consent Appraisal Committee of Maharashtra Pollution Control Board shall ensure that industries seeking Consent to Establish/Operate or Expansion shall have their captive ETPs and shall not discharge any effluent treated or untreated to CETPs or anywhere else.
