The Mines and Geology Department, Haryana is committed to stop illegal mining in the Aravalli hill area of districts Faridabad, Gurugram and Nuh. The department has taken action in 9 cases out ouf 44 complaints received by it on illegal mining in Aravali hills area.
Further, no short term permit has been issued with respect to mining of ordinary clay/earth from Aravali hill area.
The Department of Mines and Geology informed the tribunal that it has submitted the action plan to curb illegal mining - it was decided that a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) would be framed for the guidance of all stake holders involved in prevention of illegal mining in Haryana. The direction in this regard has already been issued to all the field offices vide letter dated August 22, 2022. The standard operating procedure contains various actions to be taken by various authorities both at the district and state level.
