"We will drive out multinationals"

On multinationals:
Agriculture is the only field where India can assert its sovereignty. Multinationals will fleece Innocent farmers. Plant breeding is the prerogative of farmers and we will not allow privatisation and'com- mercialisation of agricultural research.

On whether India should integrate with the world economy:
I want a khadi curtain in this country, something akin to the Iron Curtain in the former Soviet Union. This will be the first step to victory against the Clintons of the world.

On patents:
We want the preservation of, the Indian Patents Act, 1970, which excludes all life forms from being patented and prohibits multinationals in the seed sector. We will launch a one-point programme to drive out multinationals. Our genetic resources are our national property.
