The flood situation in Uttar Pradesh has worsened, particularly in the western parts of the state where the swollen river Ramganga has submerged more than 2,000 villages in Moradabad, Rampur and Bijnore districts, an official spokesman said here on Sunday.

Due to the floods, vehicular traffic on National Highway-24 connecting New Delhi and Lucknow via Bareilly has been disrupted at Moradabad.
