Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Anuradha Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 15/03/2021. The matter related to violation of environmental norms by Triveni Sugar Mill in village Milk Narayanpur, tehsil Tanda, district Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.

Updated report of the Oversight Committee on pollution caused to Kosi river in Rampur district by polluting industrial activities. River Bhella in Moradabad is a tributary of Kosi river in Rampur which is a tributary of Ramganga which in turn is a tributary of river Ganga. Though pollution is caused in these rivers by industries situated both in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the Oversight Committee considered the units situated only in Uttar Pradesh because there is a separate Oversight Committee for Uttarakhand.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailesh Singh Vs Mohammad Ali Jauhar University & Others dated 11/07/2019 regarding illegal constructions in the flood plain of river Kosi at Jauhar Nagar, Rampur by Mohammad Ali Jauhar University. The construction is obstructing free passage of river resulting in scarcity of water and devastation of environment. FIR has been registered in the matter but the illegal encroachment continues resulting in damage to the river.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Residents of Village Semra, Tehsil Swar, District Rampur Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 15/04/2019 regarding Gurunanak Stone Crusher located within 200 Mtrs from Village Semra Ladpur, Tehsil Suar, District Rampur, Uttar Pradesh and 50 Mtrs of the river, affecting the ecology of the area. The said stone crusher is causing air and water pollution and no safeguards are being observed. There is also illegal mining for which no action is being taken.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Court on its own Motion Vs Ministry of Environment and Forests & Climate Change & Others dated 11/03/2019 regarding pollution being caused in Kosi River in Rampur District in Uttar Pradesh by industrial activities. A report filed by CPCB says that the water quality is as per bathing standards upto Kosi barrage, Uttrakhand. The water quality deteriorates after confluence of the river Bhella in Muradabad and becomes highly polluted at Rampur where Rampur drain joins the river.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Mustafa Hussain Vs. Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change & Others dated 21/12/2017 regarding illegal mining with the help of heavy machines in Village Patti Kalan, District Rampur, Uttar Pradesh.
