Genetic mite

Researchers at the National University of Singapore have developed a genetically prepared vaccine against asthma. The vaccine has been prepared by introducing a gene from dust mites, a common cause for allergic asthma. The vaccine prevents children from developing asthma when exposed to allergens, as antibodies are already present in them. The vaccine has been tested on lab animals and human trials are likely to be carried out in the US, reports Reuters. Asthma has been directly related to increase in environmental pollution and the medicines available in the market at present can only provide symptomatic relief.
