The State Government on Monday announced the release of Rs 200 crore for the Bangalore Metro Rail project. This amount is part of the Rs 700 crore sanctioned for the project in this years budget.

Incidentally, this is the single largest release by the State Government for the prestigious Metro Rail project.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the board of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) had given its green signal for the proposed extension of the Namma Metro project.
