KSEB planning to set up thermal plant

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: With Kerala wallowing in acute power crises and longterm energy prospects remaining bleak, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is now seriously gunning for home-generated power by setting up a 1,000 MW thermal power plant in the state.

The KSEB has identified "specific land" for the coalbased plant, KSEB chairman Rajeev Sadanandan said. He did not disclose the precise location zoomed in on by the power-starved Board, but the KSEB is eyeing Kasargod district, sources said.
