Allotment of land, acquired for the layout, to private agencies termed illegal

Those who have lost their land for the formation of S.M. Krishna Nagar layout in Hassan can now get developed land as compensation in lieu of monetary compensation. The Karnataka High Court has directed the Hassan Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to offer developed land to the landowner at the rate of 40 per cent of the total land acquired from each of them in lieu of monetary compensation.
