>> An aboriginal community in Western Australia has warned companies operating on the Burrup Peninsula that it will fight to protect ancient rock art in the area. The association of the Ngarluma community had earlier entered into an agreement with the Western Australian government allowing development in Burrup in return for the group having a controlling stake in resulting work. But it says it won't tolerate any damage to its rock art.

>> A Zimbabwean journalist is challenging a year-long work ban imposed on him by the state media commission despite the recent relaxation of press laws. In February, Zimbabwe's Media and Information Commission (MIC) banned Brian Hungwe, from working as a journalist for a year, alleging that he was working without a press card. But recent amendments to Zimbabwe's tough media law have done away with the MIC.
