The Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board issued a notice to Associate Cement Company (ACC) as to why their production should not be stopped for violating pollution norms.

The notice was issued by Vineet Kumar, Member Secretary of the board, on December 24 to unit-I and unit-II of the ACC following a protest by villagers residing in the vicinity of the Barmana cement plant over exceptionally high air pollution levels.
