The Ministry of Mines on February 09, 2023 was notified regarding seeking comments/suggestions on the Amendment of the Offshore Areas Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act, 2002. The Ministry of Mines has prepared a draft of the amendments proposed in the Offshore Areas Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act, 2022 (OAMDR Act). Accordingly, a brief note on the proposed amendments in the Act and the draft text of the proposed amends (in track change format) is enclosed herewith as Annexure-1 and Annexure-2, respectively, for comments/suggestions from the general public, Governments of States, and Union Territories, stake-holders, Industry Associations, and other persons and entities concerned. In view of the above, it is requested that comments/suggestions on the proposed amendment may be sent on or before March 11, 2023.
