A documentary film on climate change and its impact on Sunderban islands was released by the Governor, Mr Gopal Krishna Gandhi, at Ghoramara island on Feb 25th 2009.

The documentary film produced by Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) New Delhi, portrays the plight of the residents of the island who suffer effects of climate change. The film, directed by Mr Pradip Saha touched on issues like rising sea-level due to global warming, official policies and measures, land erosion, climate refugees and the concern of small islands located on the delta region of the Bay of Bengal. The film raises question on the future of Ghoramara which might disappear like its neighbouring island Lohachura.
