The aim of the present study is to review the impact of the Government of Indiasponsored Accelerated Irrigation Beneficiary Program [AIBP] in Uttarakhand State, since its inception. For the purpose of this review, the context of State plans, policies and programs for irrigation and agricultural development, including the role of Panchayat Raj Institutions is explored.
