These Rules amend the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules 2000 by inserting a new sub-rule in rule 4 regarding responsibilities of the Authority and by making minor changes to rule 8.

The State/Union Territory Forest Produce (Ownership of Forest Dependent Community) Act, 2005, which seeks to endow rights to minor forest produce to the forest dwellers, including tribals.
