Ambala: Union Tourism Minister Kumari Selja yesterday said the government had sanctioned Rs 100 crore for the Ambala parliamentary constituency under the Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Modernisation Mission.

Waste liquid material from chemical and pesticide factories in Mandhor village, close to the city, has started polluting the village handpumps.

Ambala: Ammonia gas leaked from a pipeline here on Friday causing panic among employees of a milk plant.

Around six employees of the Vita milk plant were affected by the ammonia gas and were admitted to local hospital, official sources said here. A number of people of the adjoining colonies complained of the effect of the gas on their eyes.

With the completion of the Ambala Zirakpur four-laning project, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is all set to formally inaugurate the project on December 10.

Union Minister for Shipping, Roads, Transport and Highway T R Baalu will throw open the project for which a toll plaza has been set up at Dappar.

Panchkula, September 13 In the months to come, road connectivity in the region is set to touch heights with the Ambala-Zirakpur and Zirakpur-Parwanoo four-laning projects being completed soon.
