Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Ajay Garg Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 04/02/2022. It is said that illegal brick kilns are operating within 8 km from Raj Nagar Extension on the pipeline road going from Teela Mod to Murad Nagar. Even mining is also going on in the said area causing environmental damage and health hazards to the nearby residents of the area.

Question for consideration is compliance of environmental norms by the brick kilns in Sri Ganganagar district in Rajasthan. The NGT noted that despite the court's last order, February 11, 2021 - illegally operating brick kilns have not been closed nor made accountable for past violations.

The matter related to a brickfield located 15 metres away from the Katandhar Bypass, Bankura district, West Bengal.

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MEFCC) on May 24, 2021 has rescinded the vide notification G.S.R.157(E), dated February 25, 2019 issued by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change which is regarding prohibition of new red clay brick kilns within 300 kilometers from coal or lignite based thermal power plants

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Amit Sorout Vs Central Pollution Control Board & Others dated 08/03/2021. Grievance in this application was against the operation of M/s. Mewat Bricks Co. and M/s. Bhai Bricks Co. in violation of environmental norms.

Question for consideration is extending applicability of Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP), already applicable to Fixed Chimney Bull Trench Kilns (FCBTK), to other coal fired brick kilns, including those using ‘Zig-Zag’ technology in NCR during the period the air quality is ‘severe’, having potential for adverse health effects.

The issue for consideration was the remedial action against illegal operation of brick kilns in district Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh where 600 brick kilns were illegally operating.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Bengal Brick Field Owner’s Association Vs West Bengal Pollution Control Board dated 05/11/2020.

The NGT in its order of August 6, 2020 had directed the CPCB and the West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) to carry out a carrying capacity study in the state with specific preference to areas where the brick fields are concentrated within a period of three months. But the report has not yet been filed.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Vikas Singh Vs Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board & Others dated 15/10/2020.

The issue for consideration was the remedial action against illegal operation of brick kilns in district Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh where 600 brick kilns were illegally operating. The Additional District Magistrate, Ghaziabad in its report September 14, 2020 has said that the brick kilns have been closed.

The issue for consideration was the remedial action against cheap waste paper and the road sweep waste import for firing of brick kilns. According to the applicant, 900,000 tons of waste is imported which is hazardous.
