The Ministry of Power is considering two options including the proposal to construct a bridge over Brahmaputra river connecting Sadiya and Dhola in Assam, as part of the Dibang Multi-purpose Hydroelectric Project. The Ministry of Power has submitted a proposal to the Public Investment Board (PIB) for the Dibang Project in Arunachal Pradesh indicating two alternatives, said Minister DoNER, Mani Shankar Aiyar in a Lok Sabha reply to a question by Dr Arun Kumar Sarma. The first alternative covers external roads and bridges including construction of a bridge over Brahmaputra river.

All the Naga associations in Manipur, opposing the Mapithel Dam (Thoubal Multi-purpose Project), today condemned the memorandum issued by the Cabinet on April 24. The United Naga Council (UNC), Naga Women Union, Manipur (NWUM), All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) and Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights were against the Cabinet's decision to deploy additional security forces at the dam so that it could be constructed without any problem.

The state government today issued approval to go ahead for 4 new major irrigation projects in Narmada Valley. On completing these projects would create an additional irrigation potential of 1.38 lakh hectare. The quick approval for these proposed project came in the light of the Chief Minister top priority for ensuring utilization of allocated 18.25 M.A.F Narmada water to state by Narmada water dispute Tribunal Award.
