Incident raises serious questions on how hospitals treat bio-medical waste

A day after an infant’s body was found dumped with biological waste at the Mata Chanan Devi Hospital mortuary in West Delhi on Monday instead of the partial remains of a wrapped leg kept beside it, the revelation has raised serious questions on the manner in which hospitals treat bio-medical waste.

A protest march was taken out in Okhla in South Delhi on Sunday against the release of toxic emissions from a waste treatment plant run by a private company.

New Delhi: National Green Tribunal has allowed All-India Lokadhikar Sangathan, an NGO, to file a list of factories other than steel pickling units discharging harmful effluents into Yamuna.

No agency checks rainwater harvest

Recent Case Of Panchsheel Park Highlights Worrying Trend

New Delhi: While smog and air pollution worry Delhiites, a rather loud aspect of pollution is being overlooked. A recent case in the National Green Tribunal shows that noise exceeds the safety standard in most parts of the capital. Roadside noise levels near Panchsheel Park are found to be higher than the permissible limit, Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) told the green body recently.
