No agency checks rainwater harvest

New Delhi: In June last year, then chief minister Sheila Dikshit had admitted that the rainwater harvesting scheme, launched amid much fanfare, had been a failure. Almost a year and a half down the line, there is complete lack of clarity about the agency responsible for monitoring of the scheme.

Recent Case Of Panchsheel Park Highlights Worrying Trend

New Delhi: While smog and air pollution worry Delhiites, a rather loud aspect of pollution is being overlooked. A recent case in the National Green Tribunal shows that noise exceeds the safety standard in most parts of the capital. Roadside noise levels near Panchsheel Park are found to be higher than the permissible limit, Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) told the green body recently.

The comprehensive inventory involves detailed activity data and developed for a domain of 70 km × 65 km with a 1.67 km × 1.67 km resolution covering Delhi and surrounding region using Geographical Information System (GIS) technique.
