Even when the Government and the people of Kerala are engaged in efforts to get all possible help for the victims of Endosulfan in Kasaragod, a three-year-old pesticide-affected girl died on Thursday allegedly after being denied treatment at a Government hospital.

Chennai: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Thursday said the government would constitute an expert committee to advise the State on the ban of endosulfan.

As a first step towards making the farm sector free of chemical pesticides and putting the State on the path towards total organic farming, Kerala on Wednesday decided to ban the sale and use of all highly hazardous pesticides carrying red label, including the widely used Furadan.

KASARAGOD: P. Karunanakaran, MP, has set aside Rs.1 crore from his local area development fund to address the problems faced by the families affected by the aerial spraying of the pesticide in Kasaragod district. The fund will be handed over to the District Collector.
