Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Shailesh Singh Vs Sheela Hospital & Trauma Centre & Others dated 25/01/2018 regarding bio-medical waste management in states of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Haryana. The Applicant has stated that Sheela Hospital & Trauma Centre, Kailash Hospital and Heart Institute, Shri Ganga Charan Hospital (P) Ltd., Katiyar Nursing Home in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Boar has violated the directions with regard to treating bio-medical waste.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Eastern Zone Bench, Kolkata) in the matter of Subrato Mookherjee Vs West Bengal Pollution Control Board & Others dated 22/01/2018 regarding waste management of hospitals in Kolkata, West Bengal. NGT makes it clear that establishment of ETPs in the hospitals is unavoidable which has been delayed inordinately because of the reluctant response of the concerned Departments.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Balbir Singh Vs. The Chairman, IHBAS & Others dated 18/01/2018 regarding biomedical waste management by the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences, Delhi.

NGT directs the Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sciences, Delhi to communicate to the Central Pollution Control Board all particulars of the microwave waste treatment unit to be installed within a week and seek its advice of the said treatment unit and install and commission the unit within next one month.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rajiv Narayan & Others Vs. Union of India & Others dated 15/01/2018 regarding generation of hazardous waste and its disposal. The Court had asked for filing of an independent application in relation to management of bio-medical hazardous waste in the States of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttarakhand and NCT of Delhi. Notice issued to State of Uttarakhand and NCT of Delhi why they have not given the answers to the queries made to them vide order dated 29-08- 2017.
