CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Thursday that the 135.65-km-long Kundli-Manesar Palwal Expressway (KMP Expressway) would be completed on schedule by the middle of 2009 at a cost of Rs.1,915 crore. It's official now. The much-awaited Panipat flyover on the National Highway No 1 is finally going to be inaugurated on July 17. The flyover that was expected to be opened for vehicular traffic in the first week of June got delayed due to certain reasons. The bridge would now be inaugurated by union minister for shipping, road and transport T. R. Baalu and Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

The stretch between Barasat in North 24 Parganas and Dalkhola in North Dinajpur will be widenend to four lanes. "Provisions are being kept to turn it into a six-lane road in future. The land acquisition is being made with an eye to achieving the goal,' said Srikumar Bhattacharya, the project director of the NHAI here.
