Direct land acquisition fiat forces companies to appoint land brokers.

KOLKATA: The West Bengal Government has ruled out setting up of industries and urban spaces on irrigated and multi-crop land. This comes at a time when a debate has been raging in the State over acquisition of farmland for industry

Hyderabad, July 31: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday granted stay on 12 government orders issued by the government to acquire 3,300 acres of land for the proposed Vodarevu and Nizampatnam Ports Industrial Corridor (Vanpic) Project.

The High Court has ordered status quo in connection with the land acquisition near Kengeri village by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) for the Peripheral Ring Road project of the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE).

In the first city-specific study of its kind, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) has said Ludhiana, the industrial hub in Punjab, is the easiest location to do business in India.

One lakh acres of non-agriculture land will be acquired Statewide for setting up industries, said Minister for Large and medium scale Industries Murugesh Nirani.

The State is in the process of acquiring land in rural areas, mostly farm land, for the development of industrial corridors in the State. The acquisition process for an estimated 1.6 lakh acres of land is underway.
