Admitting a PIL challenging the forest and environment clearance granted to the Posco steel plant project by the Union ministry of environment and forests (MoEF), the Orissa high court on Wednesday

The court had pulled up the MoEF for issuing the order following a faulty procedure

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) , which had suspended the environment clearance for Posco's proposed steel plant near Paradip in March last year, will take up final hearing on the matter on August 12.

The measures will be implemented at a cost of Rs 44 cr

District administration acquires 2,700 acres for steel project

In what is being seen as a milestone for Posco’s proposed mega steel project near Paradip, Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district administration has completed the acquisition of 2,700 acres required for its first phase.

Odisha government continued the final phase of land acquisition for proposed steel plant POSCO in Jagatsinghpur district on Wednesday despite strong protest from the locals.
