Rajkot: On the second consecutive day since the Gujarat coast was warned of an approaching cyclonic system, people and administration across Saurashtra and Kutch were on standby. However, the fear had subsided among locals substantially as after the stormy wind and heavy rain in parts of Saurashtra and Kutch region on Wednesday, there was none reported on Thursday.

Phet cyclonic storm over the Arabian Sea weakened and turned towards the Oman and Yemen coastline on Thursday, considerably reducing the chances of its hitting the Gujarat coast.
