Jamshedpur, Jan. 3: There is bad news in store for power pilferers.

The Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) is ready to crack its whip again.

After successful completion of its anti-power theft drive in Jamshedpur and Adityapur circles in December, JSEB is gearing up to continue the campaign in January too.

Jamshedpur Utilities and Services Company (Jusco), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, has proposed huge capital expenditure to augment its existing infrastructure and extend its facilities to the fringe areas of the steel city.

The state can look forward to overcoming power shortage by 2011.

The highest revenue earning area board of JSEB, Jamshedpur, is set to record a steep fall in its collection this month, courtesy the power crisis.

The area board is registering losses to the tune of Rs 50 lakh daily due to the crisis. The monthly revenue collection of JSEB from industrial and domestic consumers (in Jamshedpur area board) is about Rs 30 crore.

Industry department secretary N.N. Sinha has also told traders and businessmen that the department would act as a mediator between them and officials of Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB).

Jamshedpur, March 17: The Jamshedpur division of Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) is looking forward to collecting arrears around Rs 12 crore from commercial and domestic consumers through the one-time settlement (OTS) scheme that was introduced this month.
