Jamshedpur, Sept. 7: The Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (Aiada) would be constructing 10 parks in the New Housing colony at Adityapur.

Apart from the parks, the authority has also shown interest in developing roads and drainage system in the residential areas falling under the jurisdiction of Jharkhand State Housing Board.

Jamshedpur, Sept. 7: Four large and medium irrigation projects of the state water resources department in Kolhan have failed to take off in the absence of land clearance from the forest department.

While the Sunwa, Jharjhara and Natki projects fall under West Singhbhum, the Suru project is located in Seraikela-Kharsawan. When complete, these projects would provide irrigation facilities to more than 20,000 hectares in the two districts.

Jamshedpur, Sept. 5: BJP legislator from Jamshedpur (west) Sarayu Roy today served an ultimatum to the state government asking them to start the Mango drinking water project by September 20.

The water project has been hanging in balance for the past three years.

Jamshedpur, Sept. 4: The list of the displaced under the Subernarekha Multipurpose Project (SMP) is all set to swell with the state government deciding to initiate fresh survey for identifying the beneficiaries who had been left out after the earlier process.

At present, around 14,000 people have found a place in the development books that were prepared by the water resources department. After the first survey done in 1985, only 10,000 people were included in the development books. However, protest from villagers forced the government to initiate new surveys in the region.

Jamshedpur, Aug. 28: The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) would invest Rs 12 crore this fiscal under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

Director (personnel) and in charge of SAIL's raw materials division, Ganatantra Ojha, said majority of the funds earmarked for CSR would be spent towards developing model villages in mining areas and near the steel plants of the company.

Jamshedpur: Work for the Adityapur Auto Cluster has gained momentum after the Centre announced 75 per cent subsidy for the Rs 65-crore project.

Pushpak Management Services has been appointed as the consultant. Officials said a team of industrialists would soon leave for Pune and Nagpur to study auto clusters.

The team will acquire knowledge on effluent treatment plants and hazardous waste management systems in Nagpur. The process will help incorporate the best methods and practices being followed by these clusters.

Movement of vehicles at Karandih-Hata Road came to a grinding halt for two hours this morning as activists of Jharkhand Disom Party (JDP) blocked the road as a part of the Jharkhand bandh.
