Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. Dr. Sarvabhoum Bagali (State of Karnataka) dated 23/02/2017 regarding illegal and unauthorized mining in the middle of Bhima river, Kurugodu and Chinchapur Village, District Sholapur, Maharashtra.

NGT appoints Chetan Nagare as Local Commissioner who shall visit the sites of Kurugodu and Chinchapur, Village, District Sholapur immediately and report to the Tribunal the position of mechanical suction mining being carried on in the said river at these places.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. Gugan @ Muban, Rashid & various other Noticees dated 11/01/2017 regarding illegal mining especially states of Gujarat, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand.

In the Order Environmental compensation for carrying out illegal mining is directed to be paid as follows:

a) wherever there is a tractor or a trolley, the compensation payable would be Rs. 50,000/-(for each vehicle).

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. Gugan @ Muban, Rashid & various other Noticees dated 28/11/2016 regarding environmental and ecological degradation resulting from illegal mining in the state of Uttarakhand. Status report filed on behalf of the State of Uttarakhand states that 34 persons were found to be carrying on illegal mining, the quantum of illegal mining varied from 5 cubic meter to 18000 cubic meter. The State has compounded them with imposition of penalty which varies from Rs. 5,000 to Rs.3,85,000/-.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. Rohit & various other Noticees dated 22/11/2016 regarding sand mining. National Green Tribunal directs the "Noticee to pay Environmental compensation of Rs. 5 Lakh/ - within three weeks to the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board."

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. Umesh Yadav & Others dated 21/11/2016 regarding illegal mining of sand.

National Green Tribunal directs the said Noticee to pay Environmental compensation of Rs. 50,000/- within two weeks to the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. MoEF dated 22/09/2016 regarding illegal and unauthorized mining going on either side of the river Yamuna, 22/09/2016. National Green Tribunal in its Order asks " why environmental compensation not be imposed upon them for carrying out illegal mining and for constructing unauthorized bridges upon the river Yamuna."

The National Green Tribunal on March 23, 2016 asked Maharashtra and Karnataka to issue notice to all miners of the States carrying on mining activity on the river creating deep pits that is impermissible under the law in force.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. MoEF dated 23/12/2015 regarding illegal and unauthorized mining going on either side of the river Yamuna. According to the counsel appearing for the State of Uttar Pradesh the illegal mining was being done from the Haryana side and they have already lodged FIR and there is construction of unauthorized bridge over river Yamuna in the territory of Haryana.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. MoEF & Ors. dated 02/11/2015 regarding illegal, unauthorized and unscientific mining in the river bed of Yamuna.

According to the Applicant illegal mining is occuring on both sides of River Yamuna, one falling in the State of Haryana – Faridabad and other Gautam Budh Nagar – State of Uttar Pradesh.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of National Green Tribunal Bar Association Vs. MoEF & Ors. dated 24/07/2015 regarding illegal and un-authorised mining in the district Haridwar and particularly within 10 Kms. of Rajaji National Park.

NGT directs concerned authorities to ensure that no illegal and un-authorised mining activity be carried out in the district Haridwar and they would give due regard to the fact that such activities can hardly be permitted within 10 Kms. of Rajaji National Park.
