Agartala, May 6: The Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) has reiterated that the State Governments should follow the guidelines regarding prior environmental clearance for undertaking any construction and developmental project in the northeastern region.

A proposal for an exploratory drilling at a newly-surveyed uranium site inside the Balpakram National Park (BNP), in South Garo hills of Meghalaya, has raised the hackles of wildlife and conservation groups in the State.
