The state government has urged developers of non-major ports to submit the proposals for forest clearances with the required documents like gram sabha resolutions, DGPS (differential global positioning system) survey and FRA (Forest Right Act) certificate by January 31.

The Policy Guidelines formulated for land management will provide the necessary regulatory framework for land allotment and other Port specific practice like waterfront charges/way-leave permissions etc. The endeavour of the Policy is to enable the Ports to carry out leasing and licensing of Port land in a transparent manner.
