Grievance in the application was against unscientific disposal of waste at Khasra No. 129, 130, 143, Mirzapur Road, Hailymandi, tehsil Pataudi, district Gurugram. According to the applicants, the land in question is a public park but the same is being illegally used as a site for disposal of waste.

Tanzania , home to some of the fastest-growing urban centres in East Africa, produces 12–17 million tonnes of solid waste every year. Only 50 per cent of this is collected and sent to dumpsites. The focus on waste processing is low, while disposal of waste is common.

The primary responsibility for providing on-the-ground services and for ensuring the controlled management of solid waste, on the other hand, lies with the local authorities.
