Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Inam Un Nabi Vs State of Jammu & Kashmir dated 16/04/2019. Allegation in this letter, which has been treated as an application, was that construction of mega commercial building on the bank of river Jhelum near busy Abdullah Bridge in Srinagar was taking place in violation of the order of the High Court.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Irfan Ahmad & Ors. Vs. Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora & Others dated 05/09/2017 regarding collection and disposal of municipal solid waste in the city of Srinagar and the surrounding area. NGT makes it clear that any further delay in addressing the issue would be tolerated particularly as it is leading to the the indiscriminate dumping in Achan lake side. People are stated to have been suffering from different diseases because of this huge dumping and even the water body which is stated to be at a distance of 250 Mtrs.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Irfan Ahmad & Ors. Vs. Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora & Ors. dated 24/01/2017 regarding sanitary landfill site at Srinagar.

NGT directed the Jammu & Kashmir Government that within one week it should bring complete and comprehensive action plan to ensure handing of municipal solid waste in accordance with Solid Waste Management Rules 2016. The State was entitled to have its opinion with regard to stakeholders who would establish Waste to Energy or Waste to Bio-methane and RDF to Power Plants.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Dr. Irfan Ahmad & Ors. Vs. Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora & Others dated 06/12/2016 regarding municipal solid waste disposal, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. The Pollution Control Board with a Senior Professor from NIT Srinagar would submit a report with regard to collection, segregation, composting of the Municipal Solid Waste.
