Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of Threat to Life Arising Out of Coal Mining in South Garo Hills District Vs. State of Meghalaya & Ors. dated 31/07/2015 regarding Illegal, unauthorized, unscientific unregulated mining in the state of Meghalaya.

The State Government itself concedes that illegal mining is still going on and they have caught nearly 327 cases of illegal mining in the District of Jayantia Hills. The Tribunal asked for the status reports in relation to all the districts be filed within four weeks from today.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of All Dimasa Students Union Dima Hasao Dist. Committee Vs. State of Meghalaya & Ors. And Impulse NGO Network Vs. State of Meghalaya & Ors. dated 16/03/2015 regarding illegal mining in East Jantia Hills, Meghalaya.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of All Dimasa Students Union Dima Hasao Dist. Committee Vs. State of Meghalaya & Ors. dated 02/12/2014 regarding coal mining in the state of Meghalaya. An Application filed on behalf of the State of Meghalaya praying that the two points where the Committee constituted by the Tribunal has directed installation of weigh bridges for the purposes of weighing extracted coal in transportation be shifted to some other points of exit to Assam.

The order of the National Green Tribunal (Principal Bench, New Delhi) in the matter of All Dimasa Students Union Dima Hasao Dist. Committee Vs. State of Meghalaya & Ors. dated 12/11/2014 regarding coal mining in Megahalaya. The Counsel appearing for the Applicants submit that they are finding serious difficulties in transporting the already extracted coal in terms of the Orders of the Tribunal as the State has not provided the requisite infrastructure and facilities regulating the transportation of the same.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Circuit Bench at High Court of Meghalaya, Shillong) in the matter of Impulse NGO Network & Others Vs. State of Meghalaya & Others dated 10/10/2014 regarding illegal, unauthorised and unscientific mining in the entire State of Meghalaya for a considerable time. The Tribunal noted that Meghalaya possesses rich deposits of high calorific value coal, and its mining was being carried on by traditional non-scientific method commonly known as "rat-hole mining".

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Circuit Bench at High Court of Meghalaya, Shillong) in the matter of Nababrata Bhattacharjee Vs Chief Secretary, State of Meghalaya & Others dated 07/10/2014 on the issue of dumping of solid waste and garbage as well as haphazard construction activities on the bank of the two rivers - Wah Umkhrah and Umshyrpi. The Tribunal also directed the Umiam Hydroelectric Power Plant, Umiam, Meghalaya (Barapani) to be impleaded as the Respondent No. 3.

Order of the National Green Tribunal (Circuit Bench at High Court of Meghalaya, Shillong) in the matter of Impulse NGO Network Vs. State of Meghalaya & Ors. And All Dimasa Students Union Dima Hasao Dist. Committee Vs. State of Meghalaya & Ors. dated 09/06/2014 regarding illegal, unregulated and indiscriminate rat-hole mining being carried on in various parts of the State of Meghalaya.
