SUGAR major Bajaj Hindusthan has committed 22,500 crore investment in power projects in Uttar Pradesh over the next 4-5 years.
The company on Tuesday entered into an MoU with the UP government to set up a 1,980 MW thermal power plant in Bargarh area of Chitrakoot district.

LUCKNOW: The energy task force (ETF) headed by the chief secretary gave its nod to the establishment of a 1,980 mw power plant in Bargarh (Chitrakoot) on Friday. For this the state government would sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bajaj Hindustan.

The ETF also looked into the possibilities of the project's expansion by adding another 1,980 mw.

Bundelhand continues to be a major bone of contention between the Congress-led UPA at the Centre and the Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh.
