Out of the 54.18 lakh MT legacy waste, except Gurugram, approximately 31.90 lakh MT (58.87%) waste has  been processed. The processing of remaining waste is likely to be completed by December 2023.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gagan Narang Vs Union of India & Others dated 22/11/2022.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has to take necessary precautions to ensure that no leachate goes from the Bhalswa site to the adjacent drain and the same is not blocked. Current waste should not be dumped at Bhalswa and utilization of segregated inert waste need to be followed, directed the bench of Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel and Justice Sudhir Agarwal of the NGT, November 22, 2022.

Quantity of waste generated in the state of Nagaland is 282.43 tonnes per day (TPD). Out of which 102 TPD gets processed and that means a gap of 180.43 TPD in waste processing.

The quantity of waste being disposed in landfills is 107.45 TPD and the quantity of legacy waste in the state is 153010.97 tonnes. With respect to biomining the one under Dimapur Municipal Council is not functional.
