AHMEDABAD: The high rate of malaria cases in the state is a grim sign of the fight lost out to mosquitoes. Ahmedabad city has recorded 596 malaria cases in the latest weekly disease assessment of the state, the highest and has even overtaken Surat city which has recorded 543. Ahmedabad has the second highest number of falciparum cases in the state. A major reason, according to health practitioners is the relapse of malaria and falciparum cases in patients.
