New Delhi: If the current fleet of 25-40 million gas-guzzling sport utility vehicles in the US were to shift to more fuel-efficient cars such as those in Europe, more than 1.6 billion people in the world living in the dark can be given electricity without any major increase in the levels of greenhouse gases that lead to climate change.
