City yearns for sound of silence
Flanked on its three sides by busy roads and two bus stands, the hospital is at the epicentre of a cacophonic nightmare. Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) norms declare that area within 100 metres of any hospital should be a silent zone. But noise levels around the hospital are 59% beyond the prescribed 50 dB level. The situation at ESI Indiranagar and Victoria Hospital in KR Market too was no different, found a KSPCB study .
