The Mapusa municipal council (MMC) has sent notices to the mobile phone tower companies operating in the municipality's jurisdiction without the civic body's consent, warning erring companies of strict action against them.

Sources informed TOI that there are about 70 mobile phone towers in the MMC's jurisdiction, and some among them, have been operating without the legal permissions from the MMC.
