Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Subhash Khandelwal & Others Vs North Delhi Municipal Corporation dated 13/07/2023.

The grievance of the applicant was the validity of the permission granted by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi to M/s Indus Tower Pvt. Ltd. for installation of a mobile signal tower in green area (park) at Seth Ghanshayam Dass Chowk, Ramjas Road, Karol Bagh, New Delhi.

Response filed by the Delhi Pollution Control Committee in the matter of Jan Seva Welfare Society Vs Govt of NCT of Delhi & Others dated 19/12/2022. The matter related to telecom towers in DDA parks at 9 locations of Pitampura, Delhi.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gaur Atulyam Apartment Owners Association Vs Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority & Others dated 05/08/2022.

Gaur Atulyam Apartment Owners Association filed an application in the NGT under Section 14 of the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 regarding construction of mobile towers in green belts including green belt in front of Gaur Atulyam Society, Greater Nodia.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Gafuruddin Ahmed Vs East Delhi Municipal Corporation & Others dated 09/12/2020. Grievance in the Application was against installation of a mobile tower at Abul Fazal Apartments, Vasundhara Enclave, Delhi. The NGT directed the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) to look into the grievance as per applicable guidelines laid down by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on the subject.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Rajesh Vs Govt. of NCT of Delhi against installation of mobile tower in the midst of a residential area of Hanuman Enclave, Lane No. 03 and Shiv Baksh Park, Nangloi, Delhi. It was alleged that the tower was within 100 metres of the residential area and radiation emanating from the tower was adversely affecting the inhabitants with potential of fatal diseases.

As per data collected from the Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) and Department of Telecommunications (DoT) field units in 2019, it is estimated that 5,69,897 villages out of 5,97,618 inhabited villages in the country are covered by mobile services. State/Union Territory-wise list of number of covered and uncovered villages is given at Annexure. Mobile coverage in the uncovered villages in the country is being provided by the Government and TSPs in a phased manner.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Abhjit Sinha Vs Ministry of Communications & Others dated 29/07/2019 regarding a mobile tower being constructed/installed illegally at Lalkothi Road, District Katihar, Bihar which is located at a distance of about 50 meters from schools and the hospitals.

In today’s day and age, it would be near impossible to find anyone, who doesn’t own a cell phone.

The court was hearing four petitions, which alleged that electro-magnetic radiation, generated by mobile towers, adversely affect the health and well being of humans and other living beings.

Order of the National Green Tribunal in the matter of Residents of Village Kadalpur Masti Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 10/01/2019 regarding a mobile tower set up contrary to the norms for siting at village Kadalpur Masti, Tehsil Bilari, Thana Kundarki, Post Hathipur Chandoi, District Muradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on account of which dust pollution is taking place.
