The Supreme Court on Friday allowed the export of iron ore lying at major ports of Karnataka ever since the state government had issued a ban on its offshore movement in July 2010 following allegations of illegal mining.

An SC bench, however, directed the state government to notify the Karnataka Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage of Minerals Rules by March 31, 2011.

The
