Sri Lanka's Health Ministry has alerted the public of possible outbreaks of dengue and leptospirosis (rat fever) due to the prevailing rainy weather.

According to the Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry 31 deaths from leptospirosis have been recorded among 2,785 cases so far this year.
