New Delhi: Good news first. If the world restricts its carbon emissions to 190 giga tonnes by 2050, there is 75% chance that it will escape the catastrophic consequences of global warming. The bad news: last year alone, the world emitted more than 9 giga tonnes of carbon by burning fossil fuels and that figure is growing every year.
