Order of the Allahabad High Court regarding steps taken to tackle COVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh, 06/04/2021
Order of the Allahabad High Court in the matter of In-Re inhuman condition at quarantine centres and for providing better treatment to corona positive Vs State of Uttar Pradesh dated 06/04/2021.
The matter related to steps taken by the state of Uttar Pradesh to tackle the threat of the second wave of COVID-19.
The bench of Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Siddhartha Varma of the Allahabad High Court noted that even though the state had issued directions to meet the threat of COVID-19, the public at large were not complying with the directions.
The court directed the District Magistrates of all the districts of Uttar Pradesh to ensure strict and definite compliance of the directions issued by the government. Further, the District Administration including the Police authorities have been asked to ensure that there is 100 per cent masking and no overcrowding in any place. The Panchayat Raj Elections must adhere to all COVID-19 protocols.
In addition, the state government has been asked to look into the "viability of vaccination for one and all" and not just for citizens above the age of 45 years and also those students, who are to appear in the Uttar Pradesh High School and intermediate examinations.
