M/s. Jayaswals Industries NECO Ltd. (JNIL) has been allotted sub block IV/4 of Gare Block in Mand Raigarh Coalfield, Dist. Raigarh Chhattisgarh for mining of coal for captive consumption in their Integrated Steel Plant at Raipur. In order to meet the demand of the coal in quantity and quality Integrated Steel Plant of JNIL at Raipur, it is proposed to increase the production of coal from Gare Palma-IV/4 Coal Block. The Environmental Impact Assessment/Environment Management Plan (EIA/EMP) report is prepared for obtaining Environmental Clearance (EC) from the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Government of India, New Delhi for the expansion of existing coal mine project @ from 0.48 MTPA to 1.0 MTPA. Thus, the purpose of the report is to provide a complete information base of the study area in a document which is drafted in a standard format of EIA / EMP as required by the MoEF, Govt, of India.
