Swachh Survekshan
The 'Swachh Survekshan', is a survey commissioned by the Ministry of Urban Development – the first for Swachh Bharat Mission, launched on 2nd October 2014. The survey was conducted by Quality Council of India (QCI) to review the sanitation and hygiene conditions in 73 major cities (comprising 40% of India’s total urban population) – including 52 cities with a population of more than one million and all state capitals. The survey was conducted between 5th January 2016 and 20th January 2016. Results of ‘Swachh Survekshan’ were announced on 15th February 2016 by Union Minister of Urban Development, M. Venkaiah Naidu.
