JAMMU, July 23: An awareness programme cum workshop was organized by J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board at Kanipora, Kulgam to create awareness amongst the rural entrepreneurs about different schemes being implemented by the board.

PC has ordered that no person/persons/party shall dump and throw any kind of Mulba/garbage/carcasses/construction refuse etc around Air force compound wall, Civil Airport wall, Panjthirthi to Sidhra bridge, circular road to DC office and Wazarat road.

Any person found guilty in the regard would be booked under law.

J.L.Sharma, Director Horticulture, Jammu reviewed the progress of implementation of Horticulture Technology Mission Programme and other Developmental Schemes under operation in Kathua district in a meeting with all the district Block level Officers today at Horticulture complex, Kathua. Director Horticulture took stock of progress made under current rainy season Plantation Programme in the Qistrict and P J.L.Raina, Chief Horticulture Officer, Kathua informed that 312 hectare being taken under fruit plantation in all the four blocks viz.

Government has initiated a number of steps to provide official accommodation to various Primary Health Centers, Sub Centers Ayurvadic and allopathic dispensaries of Reasi district which are not housed in government buildings so that better medicare facilities are rendered to the rural people at their doorsteps.
For the current financial year 2008-09, against a financial target of Rs.954.82 lakh, construction of one PHC at Panassa would be completed while more Primary Health Centers Ayurvedic Dispensaries and sub centers shall be taken up by utilizing the loan component.

SRINAGAR, July 21: Governor, N N Vohra, today set a deadline of March 2009 for completion of the mega Drainage and Sewerage Project for the Srinagar City and called for establishing a Task Force to ensure round the clock work on the scheme.

To provide treatment to sheep and goat population and prevent spread of contagious and non-contagious diseases, the department has dosed over 68,000 sheep population, vaccinated 18,400 and extended dipping facility to over 30,000 besides castrating 3300 sheeps and goats.
