LEH, Aug 26: State Medical Plants Board (SMPB) today organized one-day interactive-cum-training programme with the Amchies of Ladakh at Leh Circuit House to discuss various issues with relate to conservation and cultivation of endangered medicinal plants of Ladakh.

The team of the SMPB comprised Dr. Farooq Naqashbandi, Dr. Taran Singh and Dr. Zahoor Ahmad visited come to Ladakh with an aim to make the people of this region aware about conservation, cultivation and marketing potential of medicinal plants of Ladakh region.

SAMBA, Aug 26: District Development Commissioner Samba, Saurabh Bhagat today reviewed the progress of development in forest, social forestry and soil conservation sector in a meeting of the officers of the departments.

An expenditure of nearly Rs 3.90 crore has been incurred in district Rajouri till July of current fiscal.

This was disclosed and a meeting of all sectoral officers held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Sheikh Rafiq Ahmed.

While reviewing the sector wise physical and financial achievements made during the period the DDC was informed that our of the total expenditure Rs.3.71.35 lakh stood expended under District Plan while Rs. 18.11 lakh spend on centrally sponsored schemes during the period .

JAMMU, Aug 3 : In continuation to the efforts made for capacity building of the Wildlife and Forest staff and the law enforcing agencies in various matters of wildlife management, the Department of Wildlife Protection, in collaboration with the Wildlife Trust of India, New Delhi organised three-day "Training Workshop on Wildlife Crime Prevention in J&K" at Limber Wildlife Sanctuary Baramulla for 45 Frontline officers of the Wildlife/Forest/Department/Forest Protection Force/Police.

BARAMULLA, July 27: To review the implementation of Rural Health Mission in Baramulla district, a meeting of concerned officers was held here yesterday with Secretary Health and Medical Education Department Atal Dullu in chair.
It was given out that out of Rs. 6.22 crore received under the programme during last three years, Rs. 5.35 crore stand expended upto June 2008.
Reviewing the works taken up under RHM, the meeting was told that 51 works have been undertaken under District Plan, NABARD, State sector and BADP registering a cumulative expenditure of over Rs. 64 crore.

SRINAGAR, July 27: A nine member Pakistani delegation is reaching here tomorrow to visit Baglihar power project which is being built by India on River Chenab in Jammu region. The delegation held a round of talks in Delhi earlier this week.
